[C:\TEMP\~LF10001.BMP] [C:\TEMP\~LF10002.BMP] WHEREAS, it also has been established to the satisfaction of the City Council that such an installation is not acceptable for large installations or under urban conditions because of the potential for. ground water cont'amin~tion or public health hazards, nuisance or aesthetic damage to neighbor- ing properties in the event of failure of the septic tank system, and WHEREAS, the City Council rec0~nizes that the City of Pleasanton must be able to encourage industrial and con~nercial development in order to offer its residents a balanced co~nunity, and WH~.REAS, the City Council is aware that it is possible for septic tanks to be used for commercial and industrial purpose consistent with the contents of this resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CItY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF pLEA~ANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS = Section 1. The following policy shall govern the consideration of requests for the use of septic tanks within t~~ City of Pleasanton.' 1. Any request for septic tank shall be referred to the City's Health ~kfficer prior to its submittal to the City Cou]}cil. The Health Officer shall, as expeditiously as possible, consider the application and make recommenda- tions regarding the same. Said reco~nendations shall be set forth in a written report which shall be considered by the City Council at the same time that it consider~ the specific application for a septic tank. 2. When applicable, any request for a septic tank, made pursuant to this policy, shall be filed concurrently with or subsequent to a request for a variance from the provisions of Article 1, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton. Said variance shall be filed in accordance with the provisions of ~2-1~.]8 of said Codes.
