[C:\TEMP\~LF00001.BMP] <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />[C:\TEMP\~LF00002.BMP] <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />~EREAS, <br /> <br />WHE~AS, <br /> <br />~E~AS, <br /> <br /> CITY OF P~JJkSZ~NTON <br /> COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br /> STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 73-139 <br /> <br />RE~ ESTABLI~I~MENT OF A POLICY REGARDING <br />THE USE OF SBPTIC TANKS IN THE CITY O~ <br />PLEAS/%~TON. <br /> <br />Article 3, Chapter 8 f Title II of the Ordinance Code <br /> <br />of the City of Pleasanton prohibits the private dis- <br />posal of sewage by any means other than connection to <br />the municipal sewer system except by special per-sit <br />to the City Council, and <br />the City Council has previously adopted a policy with <br />respect to the use of holding tanks and chemical <br />toilets, and <br />there have been requests for the use of septic tanks, <br />and % <br />under the current conditions of limited and/or s~l~Nmn~wd <br />sewage treatment plant capacity it i~s~expecteel that <br />requests for private disposal systems, includiRg septic <br />tank systems, will increase, and <br />the Regional Water Quality Control BOard by Resolution <br />No. 366 has urged that all development in the R~nador- <br />Livermore Valley be connected to a treatment plant <br />except that septic tanks for single dwellin~s in remote <br />locations might be allowed if approved by the City Healtr <br />Officer, and <br />it has been established to the satisfaction of the City <br />Council that given proper site and soil conaitions a <br />properly designed, installed and operated septic tank <br />and drain field is an acceptable method of sewage <br />treatment and disposal for small, isolated, individual <br />uses under essentially rural conditions, and <br /> <br /> <br />
