RESOLUTIONS. AND CONTRACTS <br /> <br /> A. Document Approval <br /> <br /> All ordinances, resolutions, and contracts shall be appmved by the Council as to content. <br /> and as to form by the City Attorney or Assistant City A~mmey, attested to by the City <br /> Clerk, and signed by the Mayor as to ordinances and by the City Manager as to <br /> contracts; provided, however, that contracts for certain public works projects and for <br /> certain professional consultants may be let without Council approval as provided in <br /> Chapter 3.28 and Chapmr 3.32 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code. <br /> <br />B. Ordinance Introductlon/Adontlon <br /> The Council shall inn'educe and adopt ordinances as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. Introduction/first reading <br /> <br /> Unless a member requests a full reading, a proposed ordinance will be read by <br /> title only. Ordinances introduced shall not be adopted Within five days of the <br /> introduction or at other than a regular Council meeting. <br /> <br /> 2. Adoption/second readin~ <br /> <br /> To be adopted, each ordinance must be read by tide or in full two times. If the <br /> ordinance was introduced by a unanimous vote, the second reading may be placed <br /> on the consent portion of the agenda. <br /> <br /> 3. Urgency <br /> <br /> If the ordinance carries an urgency section, introduction and adoption may occur <br /> at the same meeting. <br /> <br /> 4. Effective Date <br /> <br /> Ordinances are effective 30 days after adoption, unless die ordinance is adopted <br /> as an urgency ordinance or the ordinance provides othgrwise. <br /> <br /> 5.
