Ha <br /> <br />SECTION V (Continued) <br /> <br />Council may request staff to report back on the item at a subsequent meeting, as provided <br />for in Section III.D.5 (Matters Initiated by Council). <br /> <br />Items Considered After 11:00 <br /> <br />By 11:00 p.m., the Council shah determine by vote which agenda items, if any, it will <br />take up that evening, with the intent o f completing those items by 11: 30 p.m. At 11: 30 <br />p.m. the Council shall determine by vote whether it will complete action on the current <br />agenda item end any others. Any other agenda items scheduled for the evening but not <br />taken up or completed shall be continued to a future date. <br /> <br />Continued items shall be taken up after the "Meeting Open to the Public" portion of each <br />meeting (see Section III.C.). <br /> <br />PROCEDUR~ REGARDING PUBLIC HEARINGS AND COMMENTS BY THE PUBLIC <br />ON OTHER AGENDA ITEMS <br /> <br />A. Commencement: <br /> <br />Noticed public hearings shall commence at the time specified in the notice of hearing, <br />or as soon thereafter as is reasonably possible, and shall continue until completed, unless <br />continued under Section V. H. of there policies. <br /> <br />Public comment on other agenda items shall commence when the Presiding Officer so <br />indicates and may continue until all persons have spoken, unless continued under Section <br />VII. G. of the policies. <br /> <br />Any item may ha continued or re-continued to any subrequent meeting by majority vote <br />of the Council. This may he done if additional information is deemed necessary. <br /> <br />B, Procedures <br /> <br />The Presiding Officer shall announce the subject of the item, declare the public hearing <br />open when applicable, or ask for public comments. If necessary to assure completion <br />of the item, the Presiding Officer may establish time limits for the prerentations by <br />individual speakers. If the public hearing is opened but COntinued to a date specific, the <br />item does not have to be re-noticed. <br /> <br />To assure due process, all agenda items other than thore on the Consent Calendar shall <br />ha ennducted as follows: <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br /> <br />
