MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />June 4, 1975 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council <br />Director of Housing and Community Development <br />Traffic Advisory Committee <br /> <br />The Traffic Advisory Committee met and discussed the attached <br />memorandum. They approved the recommendation that: (1) an ad <br />hoc committee of five (5) members other than City staff, Boards <br />or Commissions, be appointed by the City Council; (2) this <br />Committee: <br /> <br />(a) Prepare an inventory of resources in traffic safety; <br /> <br />(b) Evaluate all traffic safety activities in the community; <br /> <br />(c) Recommend the proper coordination of such activities <br /> between groups and agencies; <br /> <br />(d) Propose methods to augment present efforts in areas of <br /> need; <br /> <br />(e) <br /> <br />Recommend a committee structure and function to imple- <br />ment and improve the traffic safety activities in this <br />community as indicated by that study; and <br /> <br />(f) Apply to the Office of Traffic Safety for a funding grant <br /> to provide independent staff for this committee. <br /> <br />We recommend you approve the recommendation of the Traffic Advisory <br />Committee and at your earliest convenience appoint the five (5) <br />member ad hoc committee. <br /> <br />In the meantime, the TraBflc Advisory Committee will continue to <br />meet quarterly. <br /> <br />Motion <br /> <br />Move that we accept the Traffic Advisory Committee's recommendation <br />to re-evaluate their present operation and its continuation. <br /> <br /> <br />
