WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a revised general plan on February <br />9, 1976, (Resolution No. 76-27) which includes direction to <br />the staff to undertake the preparation of an implementation <br />program to effectuate the goals, objectives and policies of <br />the general plan and especially to devise a program for <br />determing the appropriate method of allocating development <br />within the community on a logical basis over the 20 year <br />period proposed in said plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the staff is in the process of undertaking the necessary <br />studies to prepare said allocation program for all of the <br />City of Pleasanton, but said plan is not expected to be <br />available for review and adoption before the Spring of 1977; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, an interim program for allocating sewer connections to <br />Sunol is desirable in order to insure that the facility <br />can be adequately monitored and controlled pending comple- <br />tion of the City-wide allocation program designated in <br />Resolution No. 76-27; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council at its meeting of April 12, 1976, considered <br />the aforementioned staff report, verbal staff comments made <br />at said meeting, public testimony and the contents of a <br />draft resolution prepared by the City Attorney. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. CAPACITY. Determines that the Sunol STP has a present <br />flow of approximately 1.45 M.G.D., a present capacity of <br />approximately 1.7 M.G.D., thus leaving approximately <br />250,000 gallons of additional capacity to be allocated. <br />Section 2. OBJECTIVES. Determines that the Sunol STP will not be <br />phased out or replaced prior to 1981, at the earliest, and <br />that prudent management of the remaining capacity neces- <br />-4- <br />
