WHEREAS, Union and City desire to settle their past disputes <br />regarding Resolution No. 73-111, as more particularly set forth <br />herein. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PROMISES, COVENANTS, <br /> <br />AND CONDITIONS SET FORTH HEREIN, THE PARTIES HERETO AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> 1. "GRIEVANCE" DEFINITION: The parties shall continue to <br /> <br />meet and confer in good faith on an expanded memorandum of understand- <br />ing which will incorporate a comprehensive grievance procedure. <br /> <br /> 2. PAY FOR UNUSED SICK LEAVE: The parties have met and con- <br />ferred in good faith on this item and Union agrees to remove this <br />item as a contested item. Union agrees that City is no longer bound <br />by the July 1, 1971 memorandum of understanding requiring City to <br />provide for an effective plan whereby firefighters may be compen- <br />sated for unused sick leave. <br /> <br /> 3. EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PAY: Union shall receive the <br />educational incentive pay program attached hereto as Exhibit A <br />and incorporated herein by reference for all purposes. All bargaining <br />unit employees who have achieved one of the educational levels <br />set forth in Section V of the Educational Incentive Pay Plan <br />at the time this agreement is signed, shall receive educational <br />incentive pay without regard to the salary step of their classifi- <br />cation salary range. <br /> <br />4. COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS ANNOUNCEMENTS: City agrees to <br />abide by the procedures set forth in Section 601 of Resolution 71-73 <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
