MERIT INCREASES: Union agrees to the amendment to Section <br />1203 of Resolution 71-73, as originally proposed in Resolution No. <br />73-111, to read as follows: <br /> <br />"No salary advancement shall be made so as to exceed <br />any maximum rate established in the pay plan for the <br />class to which the advanced employee's position is <br />allocated. Advancements shall not be automatic but <br />shall depend upon increased service value of an employee <br />to the City as exemplified by recommendations of his <br />supervising official, length of service, performance, <br />record, special training undertaken, or other pertinent <br />evidence, within the advancement policy established <br />by the pay plan. Any employee subject to a twelve- <br />month probationary period shall not normally be eligible <br />for advancement in pay until he has successfully com- <br />pleted said probationary period, or any extension thereof, <br />as provided in Section 1001 of these Rules and Regulations." <br />The above section amendment shall be applicable to any employee <br />hired subsequent to June 25, 1973. Union waives on behalf of itself <br />and any of its members any claim for wages which would have been other- <br />wise due and owing to a new employee hired subsequent to June 25, 1973 <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br /> <br />
