12.2 <br /> <br />12.3 <br /> <br />12.4 <br /> <br />Vacation Allowance <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />Commencing with his/her next anniversary date <br />following April 1, 1981 each eligible employee <br />on a fifty-six (56) hour work week shall be <br />entitled to vacation with pay in accordance <br />with the following schedule: <br /> <br />Length of Service <br /> <br />Vacation Entitlement <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />1 through 5 years <br />6 through 12 years <br />13 through 15 years <br />16 through 17. years <br />18 years and over <br /> <br />6 shifts <br />8 shifts <br />10 shifts <br />11 shifts <br />12 shifts <br /> <br />Accrued vacation shall be credited to the employee's <br />account upon his/her anniversary date each year. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />~y employee except a probationary employee. may be <br />allowed to incur a fifty-six (56) hour deficit beyond <br />the vacation leave credited to his/her account on <br />his/her anniversary date. A probationary.employee <br />may incur a five (5) day deficit iN vacation leave <br />after six (6) months full~time satisfactory-service. <br /> <br />Vacation must be used in increments to the nearest <br />~genty-four (24) hour division. <br /> <br />Vadation Accumulation <br /> <br />Any eligible employe~ may defer up to a maximum of one <br />and one-half (1~1/2) times his/her annual vacation <br />entitlement to the year succeedinghis/her anniversary <br />date. <br /> <br />Vacation 'gchedule <br /> <br />Vacation time requests s~all be made on Pleasanton Fire <br />Department vacation request forms. Vacation time shall <br />be granted by seniority and shall be approved by the. <br />Fire Chief. <br /> <br />Vacation time requested may be split more than,.once <br />annually provided, however, that vacation time is <br />taken' in a minimum of one (1) full shift. Seniority <br />shall be honored on each ~Ucceeding selection after <br />all members of the shift have made a vacation selection. <br /> <br />Effective April 1, 1981, two (2) employees on the same <br />shift but of differing ranks may be off on vacation at <br />the same time, or two employees Of the firefighter <br />rank may be off provided in the latter instance, no <br />overtime is required when the two firefighters' vacations <br />are scheduled. <br /> <br />If, for. example in emergencies, the requirements of the <br />service are such that an employee cannot take part or <br />all of his/her annual vacation in a particular calendar <br />year, such vacation shall be taken during the following <br />calendar year. <br /> <br /> <br />
