Section 9. Holidays' 9.1 Holiday Pay Fifty-six' (56) hour work week employees shall be com- pensated for working holidays each year through receipt of holiday in lieu pay. This compensation shall be seven and one-half percent (7-1/2%) of the emp!oyee's annual salary, exclusive of any overtime. Such com- pensation shall be paid in two equal installments. Such payments are to be made on the first pay day after December 1 and the first pay day after June 1. Employees shall receive prorated holiday pay upon termination. Section 10. Acting Officer Pay In the absence of the assigned officer, a Firefighter will act as a Lieutenant only on Squad ~61. A Lieutenant will act as a CapGain in the latter's absence only if no other Captain is available for.work Employees serving as acting officers for two (2) hours or-more shall receive the minimum rate of pay for the classifi~atioE. in which they are serving for all hours so worked provided, however that said rate.of pay is- at leash five percent (5%) above their regular rate of pay. Use of-acting officers will not be employed as a'per- manent-method of filling vacant officer positions. Section 1~. Aerial Apparatus Operator's Pay At such time as the fire department's aerial apparatus is placed into service, the employee on each shift assigned to operate said apparatus shall r~eive in addition to his/her regular ~te'of pay,--anamount equal to five percent (5%) of his/her regular hourly~te~ for each houz served on d6ty in.said assignment. Up'6n the approval of the Fire Chief the person assigned to operate the aerial apparatus shall be the most senior firefighter in the fi~e station to which the apparatus is~ssigned. Section 12.1 Vacations Vacation Eligibility All employees shall be entitled to annual vacation leave with pay excep~ the following: (1) Employees who have served less than six(6) months in the service of the City. ? (2) ' Employees who work on a ~rovisional basis.
