PROJECT VICINITY <br />ANIMALS - contd. <br />California Species ojSpecial Concern and Protected Species <br />S ecies Status Habitat *Occurrence in the Stud Area <br />Ringtail CP Occurs in riparian and Possible. A print of a ringtail was <br />(Bassariscus astutus) heavily wooded habitats near observed onsite during the Febmary I, <br /> water. 2008 survey, evidence that this species <br /> has utilized the site as foraging habitat. It <br /> is possible that this species uses cavities <br /> observed in the row of walnut trees to the <br /> north, and forages in the waterway <br /> adjacent to the site. Mazginally suitable <br /> foraging habitat is available on site for <br /> this nocturnal species. Therefore, it <br /> appeazs that this species occasionally <br /> forages on the site; however, denning <br /> habitat is corn letel absent. <br />American badger CSC Found in drier open stages of Absent.
