F. Lon~ Re: Friendly Condemnation of street <br />~eRment in Tract 2892 (LongviewL <br />Mr. Edgar advised the Council that Dr. H. F. Long had requested a continuance <br />to December 15, 1969, of the above matter and the proponents had requested a <br />continuance on the Engineer's Report, to tbe same date. <br />It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that the Public <br />Hearing for Assessment District No. 69-1, Tract 2892, Longview, and the discussion <br />of a request from Dr. H. F. Long regarding a Friendly Condemnation of a Street <br />Segment, be continued at 8:00 P.M., on December 15, 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega. Reid and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br />Discussion of future assignments for the Community Concerns Committee <br />Councilman Reid suggested that the matter of unleashed and stray dogs be con- <br />sidered as a charge for the Community Concerns Committee. Councilman Reid cited <br />an instance where a pack of dogs had killed SOme prized lambs belonging to a <br />rancher in the area. <br />Mayor Gerton asked Councilman Reid to draft the charges for the Committee <br />regarding dogs. <br />Councilman Beratlis suggested that the Committee might have some ideas of What <br />project they felt needed attention and that the members of the Committee present <br />these ideas to the City Council for their perusal. <br />Councilman Rega stated that he felt that the problem of cats is something that <br />the Committee should be concerned about. <br />Mayor Gerton suggested that the problems of keeping Main Street clean was a <br />problem that could be given the Committee. Discussion regarding the loose refuse <br />scattered around which is caused by the merchants not having large enough and <br />covered containers. <br />Councilman Reid suggested that a most valuable charge that could be given this <br />Committee would be that of preparing a list of various agencies in the Valley that <br />are involved in social problems. He suggested that the list also contain what <br />agency handles what type of problem so that if anyone would need help. they could <br />immediately be directed to that specific agency. <br />Mayor Gerton stated that he felt that Councilman Reid's suggestion was an <br />excellent one and that he would write these charges for the Committee and formally <br />present them to the Councilmen. <br /> <br />B'.ECIAL REPORTS <br />There were no special reports. <br /> <br />BF:PORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />2. <br />
