Councilman Pearson stated that he felt that the sewer connection fees should start at $400.00 for a 1 bedroom honie and be raised by $25.00 increments ending in a $525.00 fee for a 6 bedroom home. He stated that his reasons for the higher fees were to start collecting funds to be applied to the phase-out of the Sunol Treat- ment Plant facility. Mr. Fales stated that although this was a way to raise money for this program, he did not think it was fair to the potential home buyer to pay such high fees when -- the residents of Pleasanton Heights, Jensen Tract, Harris Acres, and other areas did not have to pay anything when they bought their homes. Mayor Getton expressed his concern over the fact that there would not be many larger homes Built in Pleasanton if the sewer connection fee was excessive. After considerable discussion on this matter, it was moved that the reading of Ordinance No. 605, be waived. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Betaills, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid NOES: None ABSENT: None It was moved by Councilman Getton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Ordinance No. 605, amending Sub-Sections (a) and (b) of Sect. 2-15.13, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton, increasing the sewer connection charges as follows, be adopted. {.)
