Jardim, Inc., for the Peters Avenue Project <br />because the bid was so much above the engineer's estimate. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and }~yor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Self Insurance Retention Program <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report dated July 27, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Kephart, <br />that Resolution No. 78-207, establishing settlement authority for settling small <br />tort claims, authorizing R. L. Kautz and Company to pay for claims that are less <br />than $1,000 without prior approval and claims up to $5,000 with approval of the <br />City Attorney, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, Kephart, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Truck Parkin_~ on Johnson Industrial Drive <br /> Mr. Campbell presented his report dated August 2, 1978, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes voiced strong opposition to trucks parking on Johnson <br />Industrial Drive causing a dangerous situation at Denny's, deterioration to <br />streets, and an unsightly entrance to the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. William Kovac, 3124 Weymouth Way, stated he felt trucks were a nuisance <br />all over the City. <br /> <br /> Mr. George Canessa, 3796 Pinot Court, stated he felt trucks should have <br />someplace to park when they wanted to stop to eat or for other reasons. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Kephart, that Resolution No. 78-208, amending the Traffic Reso- <br />lution to add the following changes: (1) No Parking, on Johnson Industrial <br />Drive from Hopyard Road to Tennis Town, for all vehicles; (2) No Parking, on <br />Old Hopyard Road including the circle, for all vehicles; (3) No Parking, on <br />the Frontage Road in Mission Park on Sunol Boulevard, for trucks and trailers <br />over 20' in length; (4) No Parking, on Santa Rita Road and Old Santa Rita Road, <br />for trucks and trailers over 20' in length; (5) No Parking, Valley Avenue and <br />Busch Road east of Santa Rita Road, for trucks and trailers over 20' in length; <br />and (6) No Parking, on Sunol Boulevard to Rosepointe, for trucks and trailers <br />over 20' in length, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Brandes, Butler, and Kephart <br />NOES: Councilman Wood and Mayor ~ercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 10. 8/8/78 <br /> <br /> <br />
