53 Mr. Walker presented a letter from the Alameda County Fair Association dated March 5, 1981, stating that the Alameda County Fair Association has no objection to this proposed rezoning, provided that such rezoning will not, at any time in the future, preclude the utilization of the Fairgrounds' properties for any events or activities as are now presently being.conducted and presented at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the Negative Declaration. No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by CounCilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 81-68, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a Negative Declaration is appropriate to rezone from the "A" (Agricultural) District to the "P" (Public and Institutional) District an approximately 156 acres of the Alameda County Fairgrounds site in the vicinity of Pleasanton Avenue, Rose Avenue, and Bernal Avenue, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembe'rS Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Counci]~ember Butler, that Ordinance No. 969, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, approving the application of the City of Pleasanton to fezone from the "A" (Agri- cultural) District to the "P" (Public and Institutional) District an approximately 156 acres of the Alameda County Fairgrounds site in the vicinity of Pleasanton Avenue, Rose Avenue, and Bernal Avenue, and amending the Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, be introduced.
