53 <br /> <br /> Mr. Walker presented a letter from the Alameda County Fair Association dated <br />March 5, 1981, stating that the Alameda County Fair Association has no objection <br />to this proposed rezoning, provided that such rezoning will not, at any time in <br />the future, preclude the utilization of the Fairgrounds' properties for any events <br />or activities as are now presently being.conducted and presented at the Alameda <br />County Fairgrounds. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the Negative <br />Declaration. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by CounCilmember Butler, that <br />Resolution No. 81-68, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur <br />as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a Negative Declaration is appropriate <br />to rezone from the "A" (Agricultural) District to the "P" (Public and Institutional) <br />District an approximately 156 acres of the Alameda County Fairgrounds site in the <br />vicinity of Pleasanton Avenue, Rose Avenue, and Bernal Avenue, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembe'rS Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Counci]~ember Butler, that <br />Ordinance No. 969, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving the application of the City of Pleasanton to fezone from the "A" (Agri- <br />cultural) District to the "P" (Public and Institutional) District an approximately <br />156 acres of the Alameda County Fairgrounds site in the vicinity of Pleasanton <br />Avenue, Rose Avenue, and Bernal Avenue, and amending the Zoning Map of the City of <br />Pleasanton accordingly, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows.: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />Review of the draft revised Housing, E~emep~..of the General Plan of the City of <br />Pl~asanton formulated Rurs.uaBt to State Government Code Section 65302 and Stat~ <br />HouSing Element Guidelines. The purpose of the.proposed HouSing, Element is to <br />evaluate existing a.pd p.r0Jected community housing needs and to offer a workable <br />housin~ proMram to meet said need ..... <br /> <br />On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of the <br />project, the Director of Plannins and Community Development has determined that <br />.the.proposed project.would ngt have any potential significant adverse effects <br />on the environment and that an environmental impact report need.not be prepar.ed. <br />This Initial Study is available for review at the Planning Divisi0n~ 200 Bernal <br />Avenue~ Pleasanton..
