Adoption of Resolution No. 89-197, approving Claims for the <br /> month of March 1989, in the amount of $7,642,929.38. <br /> <br />n. Adoption of Resolution No. 89-198, approving the application <br /> of the Pleasanton Girls' Soccer Association to hold the 6th <br /> Annual Soccer City Run on May 14, 1989, subject to conditions <br /> set forth in Staff Report 89:200. <br /> <br />o. Adoption of Resolution No. 89-199, approving the contract <br /> with Motorola Communications for the expansion of the Police <br /> Department radio dispatch console by adding a third position <br /> capable of eventual conversion to a trunking system; and <br /> authorizing execution of the contract by the appropriate city <br /> officials. <br /> <br />p. Adoption of Resolution No. 89-200, approving the request of <br /> the Pleasanton Library Advisory Commission to allocate funds <br /> in the amount of $3,500.00 from the City's Proposition 4 <br /> Override Fund for the purpose of constructing a masonry stand <br /> for the "girl reading" sculpture. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmembers Brandes and Tarver <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Ms. Nancy Storch, 3193 Chardonnay Drive, suggested that when <br />considering straightening Vineyard Avenue that an alternate street <br />also be considered that would carry the major traffic from future <br />development of this area and leave Vineyard Avenue as a rural <br />scenic street. Mayor Mercer instructed staff to include the <br />proposed suggestion in the report relative to this matter. <br /> <br /> Residents from Pinot and Canelli Courts presented the <br />following petition: <br /> <br /> "We the people of Pinot and Canelli Courts who back up to <br /> Bernal Avenue come to the City Council to petition for a <br /> soundwall. Since it has been widened to four lanes and now <br /> connects from the freeway and down into the City and <br /> Kottinger Ranch is under construction, the noise pollution <br /> from added traffic in general, construction traffic and <br /> future traffic poses a hazard not only in noise pollution but <br /> most importantly to our families. You see, the living <br /> quarters of all of these houses are in the backs of the <br /> houses and with families present, it is imperative that we <br /> protect ourselves from traffic in general, but unfortunately <br /> <br /> - 3 - 5-2-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
