73

Mr. Tarver reiterated his previously expressed views that
there should be an end to the bickering and name calling and the
Committee needs to get on with its job of preparing a document that
can be presented to the voters of Pleasanton.

Mayor Mercer indicated he had hoped the Executive Committee
were going to be able to get information back to the 200 member
committee as soon as possible, but it has been bogged down with
these accusations. It is the first time a citizens committee has
really failed.

City Attorney Roush responded to Ms. Purnell's concerns about
the conflict of interest issue by stating that he had spoken with
Mr. Meidl and reviewed the rules of professional responsibility.
He concluded that as Mr. Meidl does not represent the City of
Pleasanton, as such, or any other client per se on the committee,
Mr. Meidl does not appear to be in breech of any professional rule
of responsibility.

Mayor Mercer directed that a letter be written to Mr. Meidl
stating that the whole issue has been discussed in detail, thanking
him for his continued commitment in trying to make Pleasanton a
better place to live and inviting him to stay on the Committee.

4-H Club Presentation

Steve Dudgeon, President of the Livermore Chapter of the 4-H,
introduced Tony Lazzarini, Treasurer; April Watt,' Secretary; and
Jamie Watt, Vice President. Their presentation to Council
highlighted what 4-H is all about in regards to teaching its youth
about responsibility and leadership by way of projects that they
are involved in, such as various Community Service Activities and
Fund Raising. This year they have put together a calendar entitled
"Celebrating the Family". He asked that those interested invest
some time in 4-H by sharing their skills and talents.

Mayor Mercer commended the group for their presentation,
recognized what a good program 4-H is and congratulated them for
their participation.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS
Item 6a
PUD-85-8-7M/PUD-81-30-25M - The Prudential Insurance Company,
application for a major modification to the Hacienda Business Park
Planned Unit Development standards to reduce the required office
space parkinq ratio from four spaces per 1,000 sq. ft. to three
spaces per 1,000 sq. ft. for any future development in the Hacienda
Business Park. Zoning for the property is PUD {Planned Unit
Development) - Industrial/Commercial-Office. (SR 91:432)

Mr. Mercer declared the public hearing open on the
application.

10-15-91 9
