In order to proceed further in the implementation of that conversion, it is necessary to establish criteria for the reduction in water service pressure that will be allowed. The purpose of this letter is to present our recommended criteria and the basis for our recommendation. After the City has reviewed this we would be available to meet and discuss the criteria. RECOMMENDED CRITERIA The recommended pressure criteria would apply to the water service at the connection to the house (first floor elevation). We recommend establishing a minimum static pressure of 40 psi under average day conditions and 30 psi under peak hour conditions. Additionally, we recommend a minimum pressure of 25 psi during maximum day conditions while the customer is using 10 gallons per minute. BASIS OF RECOMMENDATIONS The recommended static pressure criteria for average day and peak hour conditions are more stringent then those adopted by the City in the 1985 Water System Master Plan. In the master plan, pressures of 40 psi during average conditions and 30 psi during peak hour conditions were established, however, the requirements were to apply at the water mains at the service connections.
