The amphitheater shall be a self-contained facility on
a site of approximately 10 acres including the theater,
parking, and picnic area. Seating capacity shall be a
maximum of 3,500 people. The total acreage of the
facility may exceed ten acres in order to achieve a
satisfactory separation of the parking and picnic areas
from the amphitheater. The facility should be
available to private and community groups on a rental
basis and have access to public roads. Ideally, the
facility should be located in a wooded area with a
distinct separation of the amphitheater from the
parking facility serving it; a pedestrian orientation,
including connection to a public trail system, would be
preferable. The parking facility serving the
amphitheater would preferably be located off-site in a
parking facility capable of joint use with the
amphitheater. Parking provided should be sufficient
for the proposed amphitheater, with roughly 750 - 1000
spaces for the maximum size facility. If located on-
site, the parking facility should be designed to blend
into the wooded environment and to pose minimal
interference with amphitheater activities.

Note:

Further description of the types of quasi-public uses
envisioned may be found in the "Pleasanton Ridgelands
Committee Final Report," dated June, 1991.

TablePR3. rid

Page 19
