The Green Building Compliance Official may <br />require additional reasonable gGreen bl3uilding measures as authorized in Section <br />17.S0.070(d)(3) to be employed in the operation of the oCovered prroject to mitigate the <br />lIApplicant's failure to comply with this Chapter. Once the lIApplicant has performed <br />such additional reasonable gGreen bBuilding measures, the Green Building Compliance <br />Official shall approve the oCovered prrojecl for final building approval and/or issuance <br />of an occupancy permit. Iflhe documentation submitted by the lIApplicant as required by <br />Sections 17.50.070(0)(2) and 17.S0.070(c)(3) (d) (2 and 3) reveals indicates that the <br />aApplicant has not made a good faith effort to maintain the originally approved <br />conservation and energy related credits in the operation of the bBuilding, the Green <br />Building Compliance Official may require additional reasonable gQreen bBuilding <br />measures as authorized in Section 17.50.070(d~)(3) below:; <br />(3) Mitigation: If the Green l3uilding Compliance Official determines <br />lhallhe lIApplicant has not complied with this Chapter, the Green Building Compliance <br />Official may require further reasonable gGrccn bBuilding measures to be employed in thc <br />operation and maintenance of the eCovered prroject to mitigate thc aApplicant's failurc <br />to comply fully with this Chaptcr. Such mitigation mcasures may include, but are not <br />limited to, changcs to landscaping l'or the eCovcred pl'roject to dccrcase water and <br />energy consumption, use of energy efficicnt fixturcs, including thc use of energy efficient <br />light bulbs, and cducation of the bBuilding's occupants and owncrs regarding on-going <br />cncrgy and resource savings lcchniques. <br />ef. LEEDTM Certification: For eCovered prrojects that have voluntarily <br />registered with thc U.S. Green Building Council with the intent to certify the bBuilding at <br />lhe "Certified" lcvcl or above, the Grcen Building Compliance Official may rcduce the <br />scopc of the City's compliance review.
