10. Christmas Eve Day <br /> 11. December twenty-fifth (25th) <br /> 12. December thirty first (31 st) <br /> <br />Section 10. Documentation Regarding Organized Mess <br /> <br />The Department shall provide the documentation required by the Intemal Revenue Service for the <br />deduction of the cost of meals taken as part of an organized mess. <br /> <br />Documentation is as follows: <br /> <br />In order that all members of each Fire Company will be available at all times to respond to an <br />emergency as quickly and efficiently as possible, and in order to provide for harmony and fellowship <br />among the members of Fire Companies, there shall be a common organized mess at each Fire Station to <br />which all employees (except management and staff employees) assigned to that Station shall be required <br />to contribute on a daily basis. The Captain on each shift at each Station shall determine the amount of <br />the contribution to be made to the common mess by members of that shift and shall normally make all <br />assignments as to the duties to be performed by those employees in regard to the common mess. <br />Employees may be exempted from the common mess only for valid medical or religious reasons that <br />have been verified to the City's satisfaction. <br /> <br />Section 11. EMT Pay <br /> <br />Employees in the suppression classifications represented by the Union shall be paid EMT pay equal to <br />two and one-half percent (2 1/2%) of the regular rates of pay set forth in Section 5.1 of this <br />memorandum of understanding. <br /> <br />For prior Livermore employees: <br /> <br />Employees in the line suppression classifications represented by the Union shall be paid effective <br />February 1, 1998 EMT pay equal to one point five percent (1.5%) of the regular rates of pay set forth in <br />Section 5.1 of this memorandum of understanding. Effective the first full pay period after February 1, <br />1999, said EMT pay shall be increased one percent (1%). <br /> <br />Section 12. Paramedic Program and Compensation <br /> <br />12.1 Program Description <br /> <br />The department intends to maintain advanced life support (ALS) capability through the assignment of <br />one designated Fire~ghter/Paramedic on each Engine Company. Employees hired as <br />Fire~ghter/Paramedics must maintain their paramedic license as a condition of employment, unless <br />allowed to drop their license under Section 12.3 below. <br /> <br />Paramedics will lose their premium pay if they promote. Current Paramedics of rank (i.e. the five prior <br />LFD grandfathered Captain and Engineer Paramedics) shall be allowed to keep their Paramedic <br /> <br /> 11 <br /> <br /> <br />
