Executive Summary <br />Recommendations fit into one of four types of actions: <br />Maintenance of Current Capacity <br />Improvement and Strengthening of Existing Services and Providers <br />Expansion of Programs to Fill Gaps and Creation of New Programs to Address Unmet _ <br />Needs <br />Advocacy to Support, Improve and Increase Funding, Programs and Systems that Serve - <br />Homeless People <br />It should be noted that recommendations are structured this way for convenience but are not - <br />prioritized according to this structure. <br />Housing/Transitional Housing/Shelter Priorities <br />• Maintain the current capacity of the system of shelters, transitional housing, and <br />permanent supported housing. Pinpoint expiring federal grants and assist in <br />planning to fill projected service gaps. <br />• Expand prevention activities. <br />• Expand the number of shelter beds/transitional housing units for particular _ <br />subpopulations/in particular geographic subregions of the county. <br />• Expand the number of units of permanent supported housing for particular _ <br />subpopulations/in particular geographic subregions of the county. <br />Incomes and Employment Priorities <br />• Maintain existing homeless enterprises established to train and employ homeless _ <br />people.
