Bicycle, Pedestrian & Trails Committee Minutes Page 2 of 2 March 23, 2026 <br />Recommendation: Informational Only <br />Engineering Technician Mark Candland presented the item. <br /> <br />Chair Piekarski opened public comment/hearing. <br /> <br />The following individuals provided comment: Members of the committee. <br /> <br />Chair Piekarski closed public comment. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER REPORTS <br /> <br />4. Anurag Jain provided an update on the Planning Commission Actions, specifically Kiewit <br />and Lester projects. <br /> <br />5. Tom Medina provided an update on the Parks and Recreation Commission Actions, <br />specifically looking at the Parks and Recreation Commission’s scope and frequency. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMITTEE COMMENTS <br /> <br />6. Donna Duboce asked if we have the money for all Interstate-580 crossings. Chair <br />Piekarski asked when we will start the West Las Positas construction project as well as <br />the street sweeper. <br />. <br />STAFF COMMENTS <br /> <br />7. Staff member Mike Tassano responded to Chair Piekarski’s question about the West <br />Las Positas project timeline, stating that expected start is Fall of 2026 with a one-year <br />construction timeframe.
