CITY OF PLEASANTON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC PLAN FY2024-2028 <br />Existing Conditions <br />Pleasanton’s retail centers, employment centers, <br />and hotel properties are primary drivers of the City’s <br />economic resilience. With increasing competition <br />for new commercial development—and dated <br />retail inventory in need of reinvestment—it is in the <br />City’s long-term interests to focus on economic <br />development strategies that lead to local revenue <br />growth and future provision of high-quality public <br />services and amenities. <br />3.0: LOCAL REVENUE GROWTH <br />The proposed Retail & Tenant Support Program will <br />build on the City’s activities by elevating the Economic <br />Development Division’s role in identifying focus areas <br />and triage of closure risks. <br />16
