What is the status update on the shift of the City’s fleet to electric vehicles? Is
there a specific goal percentage?

A. The City is steadily advancing towards a more sustainable and
environmentally responsible fleet. When a replacement vehicle is needed,
staff evaluates electric vehicle options first and then hybrid technologies
where feasible. Three years ago, the City didn’t have any electric or hybrid
vehicles. Now, there are 46 hybrid vehicles and 2 electric vehicles currently in
service, which represents 24% of the City’s fleet. The City’s near-term goal is
to achieve an additional 10% increase over the next 10 years.

Agenda Item #8: Introduce an Ordinance amending Chapter 18 Zoning of the
Pleasanton Municipal Code (PMC) and finding that such amendments are exempt from
the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) under Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3)
(common sense exemption) and amending Chapters 18.08, 18.12, 18.20, 18.22, 18.68,
18.103, 18.104, 18.105, 18.110, 18.116, 18.124, 18.128, 18.132, and 18.144 of the
PMC to implement modifications to Design Review, noticing, appeals, and other
process streamlining, and rescinding City Council Resolution No. 91-132, as filed under
case number P25-0352

2. What is the Alternative to Mailing allowed if the number of recipients is more than
1,000? (Pg 144)
A. Government Code Section 65091(a)(4) allows for notice by placing a display
advertisement of at least one-eighth page in at least one newspaper of
general circulation within the local agency when the number of real property
owners to whom notice would be mailed is greater than 1,000.

3. Is there background information of how the 1,000 feet was initially derived?

A. City Council Resolution No. 91-132 expanded the required noticing radius to
1,000 feet, far exceeding the Government Code requirement of 300 feet. The
policy and City Council meeting minutes do not elaborate on why 1,000 feet
