With the much-hyped, dir e financial s tate of the City for <br />the next 10 year s , it is highly doubtful that a ny r es tor atio n pr o ject <br />will ever be appr ove d. S o , divide up the par cel of land, s ave the back <br />half (or m or e!) alo ng Ta nager Dr. to becom e a co m munity par k. This <br />fr ees up the $3.5 M in r es er ves for the pur chas e of a comm unity <br />par k. This mo ney co uld fully fund the Libr ar y a s well as s om e of the <br />o the r r educe d budget item s . S ell the fr o nt po r tio n o f the land (along <br />S anta Rita) to a developer fo r high dens ity ho us ing which would help <br />P leas anto n co m ply with the S tate Hous ing Elem ent r equir ements . <br />T he pr o per ties on both s ides of the pr oper ty along S anta Rita ar e <br />a lr eady high-dens ity ho us ing units , s o this would fit with the <br />neighbor hood. The developed po r tio n o f the pr oper ty would yield <br />develo per fees and e ventual pr ope r ty ta x r evenue, s o this would not <br />be co ns ider ed “o ne-tim e money”. <br />P leas e Mayor and City Co uncil me mber s , lis ten to the public who ar e <br />a s king you to fully fund the Libr ar y.
