Suitable habitat is present <br />on the site. However, the nearest <br />documented occurrence of this <br />species is approximately twelve <br />miles northeast of the site and is <br />presumed extirpated, and this <br />species was not observed during <br />rare plant surveys in 2014, 2016, <br />2017 2019, and 2023. <br />Palmate-bracted bird’s-beak <br />Chloropyron palmatum <br />FE, CE, <br />CRPR 1B <br />Habitat: Alkaline soils of <br />chenopod scrub and <br />valley and foothill <br />grasslands. <br />Elevation: 5-155 meters. <br />Blooms: Annual herb; <br />May–October. <br />Absent. Alkaline soils are absent <br />from the site. The nearest <br />documented occurrence of this <br />species is approximately eleven <br />miles east of the site. <br />Santa Cruz tarplant <br />Holocarpha macradenia <br />FT, CE, <br />CRPR 1B <br />Habitat: Coastal prairie, <br />coastal scrub, and valley <br />and foothill grasslands, <br />often on clay or sandy <br />soils. <br />Elevation: 10-220 meters. <br />Blooms: Annual herb; <br />June–October. <br />Absent. The site occurs too far <br />inland (i.e., more than five miles) <br />from the known range of this <br />species. <br />Contra Costa goldfields <br />Lasthenia conjugants <br />FE, CRPR <br />1B <br />Habitat: Alkaline soils in <br />mesic valley and foothill <br />grasslands and vernal <br />pools. <br />Elevation: 0-470 meters. <br />Blooms: Annual herb; <br />March–June. <br />Absent. Alkaline soils are absent <br />from the site. The nearest <br />documented occurrences of this <br />species are more than ten miles <br />from the site. <br />Bent-flowered fiddleneck <br />Amsinckia lunaris <br />CRPR 1B Habitat: Coastal bluff <br />scrub, cismontane <br />woodland, and valley and <br />foothill grasslands. <br />Elevation: 3-500 meters. <br />Blooms: Annual herb; <br />March–June. <br />Absent. Suitable habitat is present <br />on the site.
