SECTION 1. GENERAL <br />1-08 Site Protection <br />Add: <br />Streets shall be swept by a power sweeper at a minimum of once per week, unless <br />otherwise specified by the Engineer. All sidewalks shall be swept clean daily. <br />IWFAA <br />The Contractor shall provide temporary support of existing soundwall panels prior to <br />the start of work at each panel location. The support system shall remain in place until <br />completion of work at each location which includes construction of piers and <br />connection of new posts to existing soundwall panels and when concrete piers have <br />obtained a minimum compressive strength of 2500 psi. <br />Work, including required submittals, shall be in accordance with Section 48-3, <br />"Temporary Supports," of the State Specifications. The contractor shall be responsible <br />for restoring any areas disturbed by temporary support installation or removal. <br />1-09 Dust Control <br />Replace the third paragraph with the following: <br />Recycled water shall be used for dust control operations. Refer to Special Provision 1- <br />35 for availability and requirements for using recycled water. <br />1-12 Storage <br />Add: <br />The contractor may have conditional use of Valley Avenue pullouts for construction <br />staging and material storage by requesting "No Parking" signs from the City. <br />The contractor will be responsible to maintain pedestrian access on at least one sidewalk <br />within the Valley Avenue public right-of-way. The contactor will be responsible to replace <br />any damaged sidewalk and curb and gutter. A temporary 6' construction fence with <br />screening shall be installed around each material storage area. The contractor shall install <br />and maintain all necessary general housekeeping and stormwater Best Management <br />Practices (BMPS) and take extra precaution to prevent any dust from leaving the material <br />storage area. In the event that the City has to notify the contractor more than three times <br />of being a "good neighbor" (i.e. dust, noise, trash, etc.) the contractor will lose use of the <br />materials storage areas, and will be responsible at their cost to procure a new construction <br />staging area site and relocate to the new site The area shall be restored to existing condition <br />which will include removal of all materials. <br />Valley Avenue Soundwall Repair Project (REBID), CIP No. 18437 <br />Page 52 <br />
