THE CITY OF
M 1 . m: m in M1 1 111
PLEASANTON,
Annual Sidewalk & ADA Ramp
Project Number: FY512
Department:
Project Phase:
Total Budget:
CIP Rating Score:
Project Description:
Public Works - O&M
Construction
N/A - Annual Project
Core
This project involves dividing the city into inspection
zones, where sidewalks are assessed for offsets or irreg-
ularities that create potential tripping hazards. A scope
of work is developed from these inspections, and each
identified offset is addressed by cutting the surface to
make it level with the existing and surrounding pave-
ment. This approach ensures safe and accessible pedes-
trian pathways throughout the city.
Project Funding
Project Justification:
Continuous sidewalk maintenance is essential to
ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabil-
ities Act (ADA). Failure to address identified irregu-
larities poses legal liability to the City and increases
the risk of pedestrian injuries. Proactively maintain-
ing sidewalks supports Pleasanton's commitment
to accessibility, safety, and the overall quality of life
for its residents.
Gas Tax 160 $150,000 $155,000 $160,000 $165,000 $170,000
City of Pleasanton Capital Improvement Program • FY 2025/26 - FY 2029/30 43
