MINI-TRAFFIC CIRCLE/ROUNDABOUT: Utilities shall be routed around the mini-traffic circles and roundabout on Busch Road to be a minimum of 8 feet clear of the center of the circle and shall include planting and a minimum of one 24 -inch-box-sized tree. Project Specific Condition Trees 130. TREE REPORT: The applicant shall comply with the recommendations of the tree report prepared by Todd McNeil, McNeil Arboriculture Consultants, LLC, dated July 9, 2024. No tree trimming or pruning other than that specified in the tree report shall occur. An updated arborist report shall be provided based on the construction plans. The applicant shall arrange for the Project Arborist to conduct a field inspection prior to building permit issuance to ensure all recommendations have been properly implemented. T he Project Arborist shall certify in writing all recommendations have been followed. Project Specific Condition 131. TREE REMOVAL MITIGATION: Any trees approved to be removed by the City shall have its full value paid into the City’s Urban Forestry Fund pursuant to requirements set forth in the Pleasanton Municipal Code section 17.16.050. A credit for replanting trees shall be as follows: a. $250 credit for a 15-gallon size replacement tree; b. $500 credit for a 24-inch box size replacement tree; and c. $1,000 credit for a 36-inch box size replacement tree. Project Specific Condition 132. TREE DISPOSITION PLAN: Provide a tree disposition plan that shows trees to remain, trees to be removed, the value of each tree, the total value of the trees to remain and be protected, and the total value of trees to be removed. The plan shall also include the tree protection recommendations from the arborist report. Project Specific Condition 133. STREET TREES: Street trees varieties shall be installed as shown in the Approved Plans. Varieties shall be reviewed and agreed upon by the City Landscape Architect and Applicant prior to issuance of the building permit. Project Specific Condition 134. TREE BOND: Any tree affected by the Project shall be addressed in accordance with the applicable requirements per the Municipal Code. The applicant shall post cash, letter of credit, or other security satisfactory to the Director of Public Works/City Engineer, for all Heritage Trees and any other significant tree as deemed by the City Landscape Architect in accordance with Pleasanton Municipal Code section 17.16.050. This bond or security will be for the total value of the tree(s), up to a maximum of $100,000, and shall be held for a minimum of 1 year following acceptance of public improvements or completion of construction, whichever is later, and shall be forfeited if the trees are destroyed or substantially damaged. An arborist shall be onsite during any tree work (i.e. root pruning, trimming, setting up tree protection, etc.). The bond or security may be released early with a certification letter by the arborist confirming he/she was present during said tree work and work was performed in accordance with the arborist’s recommendations.
