<br />Alameda., CASA Youth Social Media Internship, Alameda, West
<br />County, $5,000.00 - Funds will be used to provide stipends for four
<br />teens over 7-12 months, while also supplementing Ms. Robinson’s
<br />time, to foster youth leadership and drive a sustainable change in the
<br />community regarding food waste diversion, home composting
<br />advocacy, recycling initiatives and public three-stream awareness
<br />campaigns.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-04 Resilience Birthright Inc., Resilience Go-
<br />Green Alameda County, Alameda, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds
<br />will be used to provide comprehensive environmental education
<br />resources to K-12 students through classroom visits, special K-2
<br />programming and K-12 assemblies and presentations.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-05 Forestr.org, Gleaning: Courses on Food
<br />Waste Prevention, Castro Valley, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds
<br />will be used to increase public knowledge about the existence of
<br />excess, fresh local produce and the issue of food waste, while also
<br />broadening the practice of gleaning to prevent waste; develop and
<br />distribute educational resources, alongside practical training for gleaning leaders and their teams; enhance the scope of the
<br />complimentary gleaning services; offer part-time environmentally friendly job opportunities.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-06 KIDS for the BAY, Blue Watershed Classrooms Program, Berkeley, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds will
<br />be used to provide the Blue Watershed Classrooms Program to support teachers from under-resources elementary schools by focusing
<br />on changing the school culture and behaviors around waste prevention and will promote recycling and practicing the Five Rs in
<br />partner school communities.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-07 Canyon Meadows Homeowners Association, Canyon Meadows Composting & Recycling Expansion,
<br />Pleasanton, East County, $5,000.00 - Funds will be used to purchase 6 composting bins to service the entire condominium
<br />community as well as providing educational content to the adults and children in the community on proper usage at events such as
<br />Community Earth Day, neighborhood block parties and literature and signage.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-08 Resilience Birthright Inc., The Story of CARP, Alameda, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds will be used to
<br />produce a 3-minute short film aimed at simplifying and explaining the City of Alameda’s Climate Action and Resiliency Plan (CARP)
<br />for the general public.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-09 Spokeland, Spokeland Program Expansion, Oakland, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds will be used to
<br />supplement existing funding for four main programs: Mechanic Mentor, Do-It-Together, Self-Service and Bike Build programs. The 4
<br />programs offer educational opportunities for the students and the community, promote waste prevention and recycling culture, and
<br />provide steppingstones for students who wish to pursue careers in waste prevention and recycling.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-10 Cecelia Mosher-Clark, Sew what you using?, Oakland, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds will be used to
<br />support weekly workshops that provides community access to sewing machines, recycled materials and instructional guidance in
<br />maintaining sewing machines and utilizing recycled materials in soft goods/textile design.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-11 King Middle School, Zero Food Landfill at King Middle School by 2025/26, Berkeley, West County,
<br />$5,000.00 - Funds will be used to develop a pilot program for multiple processes that can achieve virtually Zero Food Waste at King
<br />Middle School by 2025/26.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-12 Fixit Clinic, Teen Repairing at Asian Branch Library, Berkeley, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds will be
<br />used to hold teen-oriented repair programming at the Asian Branch Library of the Oakland Public Library.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-13 Fixit Clinic, Hayward Library Fixit Clinics, Berkeley, West County, $5,000.00 - Funds will be used to hold
<br />two Saturday “big production” Fixit Clinics at the Hayward Main Library as a mechanism for seeding an ethos of “Always There
<br />Repair” throughout Hayward, neighboring cities, and Alameda County county-wide.
<br />Mini-Grant #: 24-14 Cecelia Mosher-Clark, SoftWEAR at Hardware/SoftWEAR Hack Night, Oakland, West County,
<br />$5,000.00 - Funds will be used to host a weekly event at Sudo Room assisting participants with fixing sewing machines and repairing
<br />textiles and soft goods, every Tuesday.
