I am writing to express concern about the reductions proposed in library services. The Pleasanton Library, like all public libraries, is an invaluable resource. My family has made significant use of the library, especially as my kids made their way through the Pleasanton public schools. It was always a highlight for my kids to visit and have the opportunity to see and interact with so many books. I have no doubt about the role in which the library played in my children's love of reading. Beyond my own personal experience with the library, I am concerned that reductions in service will further disadvantage those who are already disadvantaged, as well as reducing the sense of community that surrounds the library. Finally, it's also my understanding that the library is amongst the most heavily used services provided by the city. As such, I would strongly encourage you to reevaluate how best to continue funding the library at levels that allow this gem to continue to thrive in the coming years.
