Proposed Changes to Master Fee Schedule
Staff recommends the following changes to the Master Fee Schedule for section I:
General and Administrative Fees, D — Pleasanton Public Library Fine and Fee
Schedule:
• Eliminate the Returned Check Fee, utilizing instead the City's returned check fee
previously listed in the Master Fee Schedule.
• Eliminate the Overdue Books, Magazines, CDs, DVDs, Audiobooks fine.
• Eliminate the Maximum Fines fee as daily fines would be eliminated.
• Eliminate the line item for Replacement Cards, which is currently listed as free.
and thus does not need to be included on the fee schedule.
These recommended changes are reflected in Attachment 1.
Modifying the Library section of the Master Fee Schedule to focus on materials recovery
instead of daily fines will free up staff to have more positive interactions with community
members and limit barriers to information access.
Submitted by: Fiscal Review: Approved by:
€/0G, t " 1 ,--/)4114-7
/yir,
Heidi Murphy Tina Olson Nelson Fialho
Director of Library and Recreation Director of Finance City Manager
Attachments:
1.
