Task 3.0-Assumptions
1. The City will perform the sampling and water quality testing recommended by Carollo to support the
nitrification evaluation. The sampling will likely require one operator full time for one day per week.
The frequency and type of sampling will depend on the water quality testing results.
2. The nitrification evaluation does not include the development of a hydraulic model of the City's
distribution system. It should be noted that without developing a hydraulic model of the City's
distribution system,it is not possible to estimate the potential impacts to water quality beyond the
limits of the tanks in the distribution system.
3. The City will review all major deliverables within 3 weeks of Carollo submitting the Draft deliverable.
4. Carollo will provide a list of five recommended facilities for the City to tour. It is also assumed that
Carollo will not attend the site tours with the City.
Task 4.0-Assessment of Wells 5, 6 and 8
Task 4.1 Facility Assessment
Carollo shall evaluate Wells 5,6 and 8 facilities, including associated building, equipment, and control
systems(SCADA).The evaluations will include the following:
• Review of existing information provided by the City such as record drawings and equipment data.
Carollo shall provide a written request identifying all information needed.
• Conduct O&M staff interviews to facilitate the identification of additional information or asset history
that may not be readily available from existing records to help understand and document the key O&M
staff concerns/issues.
• Field assessment that considers age/condition,capacity, regulatory/code compliance,new technology,
and ability to meet city standards or operational preferences. The assessments shall rely on expertise in
the following disciplines:civil/site,structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation, and
corrosion.Carollo will utilize an assessment checklist developed internally and reviewed by the City
prior to performing field assessments.
Anticipated meetings associated with this scope include:
• Field assessment of Wells 5,6,and 8.
• Interviews with operations staff.
• City will provide the following information:
• Existing information such as record drawings, equipment data, and other items requested by Carollo
(as available).
Task 4.2 Alternatives Evaluation and Recommended Improvements
Once the facilities assessments have been completed,Carollo shall identify specific improvements for the
Wells 5, 6,and 8 facilities organized by discipline. It is envisioned that an alternatives evaluation will be first
required for some elements prior to providing a recommended improvement. For the purposes of this scope
of work, it has been assumed the alternatives evaluation will include the following sub-tasks.
6
