Present at
roll call were: Councilman Madseq Rivolta, Amaral, Olesen and Orloff.
Mayor Orloff stated that the meeting. had been called to consider concessions
at the Fiesta Del Vino. Councilman Amaral then introduced Lir. Pete Christesen
of the Fiesta committee who outlined what the Fiesta committee would like to have
done as regards outside concessions. According to Mr. Christesen's remarks
the committee was asking that Neal Street from fain Street to the Southern
Pacific property be closed in order that a merryground, ferric wheel and other
concessions might be installed. his remarks were followed by Mr. Andrew Jorgensen
also of the committee. Discussion then followed among the Councilmen and it was
generally believed that the Southern, Pacific property and the lot between the old
reception salon =.and the Valley Creamery property be the suitable place for
placing the concessions. Further discussion then followed among the Fiesta committee
members and the Council. Also the matter of licenses to be charged for concessions
was introduced into the discussion. On motion of Councilman Dladse4 seconded by
Councilman Olesen and with all the Councilmen in favor of same, it was mrgaabd that
the merryground etc. be placed on Southern Pacific property and that concessions
booths be permitted along Neal Street, but that the street would not be closed
excepting for the street dance etc. As regards the license to be charged
Councilman Rivolta suggested that the license be waived in order to assis.t the
Fiesta committee. A short discussion followed. On motion of Councilman Rivolta,
seconded by Councilman Amaral and with all the Councilmen in favor of same, it was
ordered that no license be charged for concession privileges. tsar.
