accordingly would be practically ovined by the Town of Pleasanton.," He also <br />advised that the care of the equipment rested with the fire department and <br />accordingly anything that was turned over to the fire department to be cared <br />for by it naturally became its property. <br />Councilman Amaral of the Laws and Judiciary Committee advised that $1205.08 <br />had been received from the State of Calif ornia as Pleasanton's apportionment <br />of liquor fees to March 31, 1935. He questioned who -had received same and in <br />what fund it was deposited. The Clerk advised Mr. Amaral that the City Treasurer <br />had received the money since the check was made payable to him and being that <br />it came'^from licenses etc. it had been placed in the general fund. Councilman <br />Amaral advised that on account of the Bean trial in Oakland that Mr. Delucc hi <br />had been absent from his duties that day and probably would be for another <br />day or two and that,during his absence Mr. Rodrigues was acting as Chief of <br />Police. <br />Councilman Olesen of the Street and Building Committee reported on recent <br />S.E.R.A. activities. He asked the Clerk to submit a report with reference to <br />what might be done to fix the streets and the Clerk advised that -S.E.R.A. <br />labor might be secured and a sum of money not to exceed $200.00 probably would <br />be available to buy supplies. The Clerk also.advised that a representative <br />of the District Office of the State Highway Commission would be at the City <br />Hall on Monday, July 8th at 10 o'clock to meet Mr. Olesen and other members <br />of the City Council with regards to *work on St. Marys Street. The Clerk also <br />asked that the Council give him authority to collect for the curb and gutter <br />work following the thirty day period allowed for,the payment of same. He <br />advised but that little money had been collected to date, whereas bills in <br />excess of $500.00 were on,hand to be paid. On motion of Councilman Olesen, <br />seconded by Councilman Rivblta and with all the Councilmen in favor of <br />same the Clerk was authorizied and instructed to collect the curb and gutter <br />project accounts. Mr. Olesen thanked the Council and the Clerk for recent <br />courtesies extended in connection with the curb and gutter work. Some discussion <br />followed with regards to S.E.R.A. work as regards the workers, the hauling away <br />of dirt and the expense involved and Rouncilma n Olesen was advised to try and. <br />see what he could do toward.encouraging the workers to put in more effort as <br />regards their labors and also to minize the expense of trucking the dirt away. <br />Councilman Madsen of the Public Utilities Committee made a short report <br />with regards to the Sewer Farm. He also= advised that an electric meter had <br />been installed at McKinley Park and in the fufture that the lights used at <br />the park would be billed separately from the power used at the pump. He also <br />suggested that a nominal fee be charged for lights used by various organizations <br />who used the park in the evenings. <br />The following resolutions were then present: <br />Resolution No. 1549 -- Authorizing the payment of the salaries of the municipal <br />officers and amounting to $745.00. <br />No. 1550 -- Authorizing the payment of the 35th Municipal plater Bond <br />amounting to $ 500.00 and 6 coupons of interest @ $12.50- - <br />$75.00. <br />No. 1551--Authorizing-the Clerk to cancel License No. 202, dated <br />April 1, 1935, George Johnson, $12.00 on account of <br />abandoning his business operations as of May 15, 1935. <br />Action on the -.resolutions ; taken as follows: <br />Resolution No. 1549 -- Adopted on motion of Councilman Madsen, seconded by Council - <br />man Olesen and with'all the Councilmen voting in favor of <br />same. <br />it " " No. 1550 -- Adopted on motion of Councilman Olesen, seconded by <br />Councilman Amaral and with all the Councilmen voting in <br />favor of same. <br />No. 1551 -- Adopted on motion of Councilman Madsen, seconded by <br />Councilman Olesen and with all the Councilmen voting in <br />favor of same. <br />Mr. Sam Glassey was present at the meeting and asked permission for the <br />East Bay Matrons and Patrons Association of.the Eastern Start to use McKinley <br />Park on Sunday afternoon, September 22nd for an outing and barbecue. <br />The Clerk then took up the matter of his annual report which was submitted <br />at the last meeting. He questioned the Councilmen with regards to whether they <br />had any further information that they desired. Mayor Orloff speaking for the <br />Council advised that the re,port'had been satisfactory and that he was very sure <br />that there was no further information required,. Councilman Rivolta, of the <br />Finance Committee, expressed himself as being pleased with the report. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 10:30 o'clock to <br />meet -in regular session, Monday evening, August 5th at the usual hour, <br />Approved* <br />ox 401WP_ <br />113 j <br />i <br />
