12 4 3 <br />Pleasanton, California, April lb, 1936- <br />The Town Council of the 'Town of Pleasanton was called to order in adjourned' session <br />on the above written date with Mayor Thos. Orloff president. Present at roll call were: <br />Councilmen Madsen, Rivolta, Amaral, 'Trimingham and Orloff. <br />The Mayor stated that the meeting had been called to canvass the returns of the <br />municipal election on Tuesday, April 12th and to count the Absent Voters ballots sent <br />in. The Clerk presented to the Council the 21 applications received from.Absent Voters <br />and after these had been given careful attention, the Council proceeded with the counting <br />of the Absent Voters ballots. Councilman Rivolta was appointed to act as Judge, Council- <br />man Madsen was appointed to act as Inspector and the Clerk acted as Clerk. The Absent <br />Voters ballots received gave the following count: e <br />For • Councilman - F. W. Brenner 18 <br />" <br />it to - Earl Trimingham 18 <br />" <br />to " - John J. Amaral 5 <br />The Clerk then read Resolution No. 1643, a resolution declaring the result of the election. <br />Same was adopted. on motion of Councilman Madsen seconded by Councilman Rivolta with all <br />councilmen in favor of same. According to the resolution there were 445 votes cast at <br />the municipal election and same were received as follows: Earl Trimingham 272, Francis <br />W. Brenner 272, and John J. Amaral X18. <br />There being no further business the meeting <br />Ap-proved: <br />urned' sine /die. <br />Wo <br />Clerk <br />Pleasanton, California, April 18, 1938. <br />The Constitutional Oath of Office to Councilman Francis 'l+'. Brenner and Earl <br />Trimingham was administered by City Ulerk Ernest W. Schween, who admonitioned them <br />with regards to their duties and what was expected of them as Councilmen. Before <br />calling the meeting together, The Clerk as acting chairman of the Council, thanked <br />the retiring officers for their work during.their respective terms. The acting <br />chairman then announced that the, first order of business was the selection of a Mayor. <br />Councilman Madsen made a motion -to the effect that Councilman Thos. Orloff` be selected <br />as Mayor. The motion was seconded by Councilman Rivolta with all the councilmen in <br />favor of same. There being no further nominations Councilman Orloff was declared the <br />Mayor. ' The Clerk then presented Mayor- .0'r1off who had accepted the nomination. The <br />new Mayor made a few remarks apropos to the occasion-and he was followed by Councilmen <br />Rivolta and Madsen and the new Councilmen Earl Trimingham and Francis W. Orloff presiding.
