12 4 3 Pleasanton, California, April lb, 1936- The Town Council of the 'Town of Pleasanton was called to order in adjourned' session on the above written date with Mayor Thos. Orloff president. Present at roll call were: Councilmen Madsen, Rivolta, Amaral, 'Trimingham and Orloff. The Mayor stated that the meeting had been called to canvass the returns of the municipal election on Tuesday, April 12th and to count the Absent Voters ballots sent in. The Clerk presented to the Council the 21 applications received from.Absent Voters and after these had been given careful attention, the Council proceeded with the counting of the Absent Voters ballots. Councilman Rivolta was appointed to act as Judge, Council- man Madsen was appointed to act as Inspector and the Clerk acted as Clerk. The Absent Voters ballots received gave the following count: e For • Councilman - F. W. Brenner 18 " it to - Earl Trimingham 18 " to " - John J. Amaral 5 The Clerk then read Resolution No. 1643, a resolution declaring the result of the election. Same was adopted. on motion of Councilman Madsen seconded by Councilman Rivolta with all councilmen in favor of same. According to the resolution there were 445 votes cast at the municipal election and same were received as follows: Earl Trimingham 272, Francis W. Brenner 272, and John J. Amaral X18. There being no further business the meeting Ap-proved: urned' sine /die. Wo Clerk Pleasanton, California, April 18, 1938. The Constitutional Oath of Office to Councilman Francis 'l+'. Brenner and Earl Trimingham was administered by City Ulerk Ernest W. Schween, who admonitioned them with regards to their duties and what was expected of them as Councilmen. Before calling the meeting together, The Clerk as acting chairman of the Council, thanked the retiring officers for their work during.their respective terms. The acting chairman then announced that the, first order of business was the selection of a Mayor. Councilman Madsen made a motion -to the effect that Councilman Thos. Orloff` be selected as Mayor. The motion was seconded by Councilman Rivolta with all the councilmen in favor of same. There being no further nominations Councilman Orloff was declared the Mayor. ' The Clerk then presented Mayor- .0'r1off who had accepted the nomination. The new Mayor made a few remarks apropos to the occasion-and he was followed by Councilmen Rivolta and Madsen and the new Councilmen Earl Trimingham and Francis W.
