Action on the communications were taken as follows: <br />Both the application of Mr. Viada and Mr. Potvin were again heard and the Council <br />went on record as favoring a change from the present management of the garbage disposal <br />to more desirous parties providing further trouble would be experienced with Mr. Zunino. <br />November 25th -- Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company - Filed. <br />.- 28th -- American Legion Auxiliary. The Clerk was instructed to speak with <br />Mrs. Ruppel and to advise her that the Council would be pleased to have-the Auxiliary <br />take care of the matter as in previous years. <br />Councilman Madsen of the Public Utilties committee reported that the work of his <br />department was progressing along O.K. and especiall at the .sewer farm. He reported <br />that some new tools were needed by his department and that he instructed the engineer <br />to procure same. <br />Councilman Amaral had nothing in particular to report. He advised the Council <br />the Council that the liquor licenses t; be issued after January 1, 1937, would have <br />to be paid in full instead of quarterly. He also dreiv the attention of a new require= <br />ment of the State Board of•Equalization which required the inspection of all places <br />do.ing a liquor business as to whether or not 'they were up to sanitary conditions. <br />Councilman _ Amaral recommended that in the very near future our Health Officer would <br />inspect the various places in the city limits doing a liquor business. <br />Councilman Olesen discussed the -State Railroad Commission hearing.in San Francisco <br />on November 7th, which he, Mayor Orloff and Attorney Nilson attended. He reported that <br />the Southern Pacific Company was not favorable to the crassing,being.repaired but <br />that it was favorable to the town's recommendation in the matter. He also stated that <br />Attorney Nilson was awaiting word with regards to the outcome of the hearing that day <br />and until then nothing could be done. The Mayor also explained the matter a little <br />bit further. <br />The Mayor referred to the agreement of the Spring Valley dater Company with the <br />Town of Pleasanton with regards the water situation and a certain section concerning <br />same was read from the agreement by Councilman Madsen. A short discussion followed. <br />Councilman Madsen reported that water from the Water District will be available <br />should the town require same. Also that Messrs. Ebright and Espy had reported to <br />him that water would be flowing -from the artesian wells in about a year since all <br />underground stratus would be filled up. It was decided that should water be <br />needed from the water district during the winter months that same be procured. <br />The Clerk reported that a representative of the IWPA had visited Pleasanton and <br />had gone over the tree trimming matter with Superintendent of Streets, M.M.Rodrigues. <br />Also that over the week -end a proposed project had been received from headquarters <br />for signature. <br />The Clerk then presented Resolution 1602, authorizing the payment of the salaries <br />of the :municipal officers for November and amounting to $770.00. On motion of Councilman <br />Madsen, seconded by councilman Rivolta and with all the councilmen in favor of same, <br />the resolution was adopted. <br />There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 9:30 to meet in regular <br />session, Monday evening, January 4th at 7:30 P.M. <br />Approved: <br />&AveClerk <br />Mayor <br />Pleasanton, Calif(rna, Sanuary 4, 1937• <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton was called to -o.rder at 7:30 on the <br />above written date -with Mayor Thos.
