y. <br />Su erintendent of Streets: -- Showing that work on the streets had amounted to <br />108.7 during the month of November, 1936. <br />Town Marshal: -- Showing that he received 449 water bills from the Clerk amounting 'to <br />$1346.05. He collected water bills amounting to $998.10 and returned water bills <br />amounting to $347.95. He collected 9 licenses @'$12.00 amounting to X108.00 and <br />Milk Inspection fees amounting to $34.06. He collected first installment of <br />taxes amounting to x'3227.14 and $751.01 second installments, making a total of <br />$3978.15. <br />Treasurer: -- Showing that the Water Deposit Fund had $66.00 on hand per last <br />report and since then $10.00 had been collected making a total of $76.00 less <br />x;2.50 paid out, leaving $73.50 in the Water Deposit Fund. The (later Surplus.- <br />Fund had $15.59 on hand per last report. No collections made during the month. <br />The Curb and Gutter Project fund had $343.24 on hand per last report and since <br />then $16.69 had been collected making a total of.$359.93 in the Curb and Gutter <br />Project fund. The general fund'had 6069.87 on hand per last report and since <br />then $5356.28 had been collected making a total of $11,426.15, less amount of <br />warrants issued $2783.55, leaving,$8642.60 in the'General Fund. <br />Fire Chief: -- Showing report of activities during the month of November, 1936. <br />City Judge: -- Report showed that $40.00..had been collected during the month of <br />November, 1936. <br />Health Officer: -- Showing report of activities during the month of November, 1936. <br />Milk Inspector:--Showing laboratory report of milk samples for the month of <br />November, 193 <br />Building Inspector: -- Report showed that one building permit and one electrical <br />permit had been issued during the month of November. <br />Ashton Britten: -- Showing laboratory report at the sewer farm for the month of <br />November, 1936. <br />The reports were referred to the finance committee for audit and report. <br />The following communications were then read: <br />Nov. 18 - Frank Viada,,presenting'application for garbage business in and around <br />the Town of Pleasanton. <br />Nov. 23 - Clyde Potvin, presenting application for the job of disposing the municipal <br />garbage. <br />Nov. 25 - Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company, protesting -taxes to be paid for <br />the fiscal year 1936 -37.' <br />Nov. 28 Velma Ruppel, secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary, requesting <br />permission to decorate the Christmas tree again this year. <br />The Clerk then presented an application for a dance permit for December 19th <br />at the I.D.E.S. Hall and given by Joe Antonini and Bog Gibson. There were no <br />objections to same and the dance permit was granted. <br />A recess followed during; which the finance committee examined Claims No. 234. <br />to 273 inclusilre and amounting to $634.96. After the meeting had been called to <br />order again, Councilman Rivoita of the finance committee reported that the committee <br />had examined and approved the claims and made a motion to the effect that they be <br />paid. His motion was seconded by Councilman Madsen, and with all the councilmen <br />in favor of same. Councilman Rivolta'also reported that the officers':. monthly <br />reports were accepted and moved that they be.placed on file. <br />Charles S. Graham appeared before the Council in behalf of Mr. Doucette.and <br />himself and with regards to the gutter condition in front. of their business property <br />on Main Street which were affected during the winter season by water standing in <br />front of same. Mr. Graham brought up the matter of the walnut tree in front of <br />the First National Bank and referred to it as causing some of the condition to <br />be -as it was. After a discussion among the councilmen_, Councilman Olesen was <br />appointed to look into the matter and to discuss same with the officials of the <br />First National Bank, <br />Clyde Potvin appeared before the Council with regards to his application'to <br />.dispose of the town's garbage and the Mayor.advised him that should any change <br />be made his application would be considered. <br />'Andrew Jorgensen appeared in behalf of the Junior Chamber of Commerce with <br />reference to the sign to be set up by the Junior Chamber of Commerce and to be <br />maintained by the Town of Pleasanton. Mr. Jorgensen referred to the matter having <br />been brought to the attention of the Council at the council meeting in August and <br />said that his organization was very anxious for.a.report at this time.. After a <br />discussion on the matter Mayor Orloff appointed councilman Amaral to look into the <br />matter as it is handled in other cities where municipalities are contributing <br />to the maintenance of signs which are not the property of the municipality. <br />', I - .
