1:18() <br />Councilman Madsen of the Public Utilties committee reported progress in his <br />department. <br />Councilman Olesen of the Street and Building committee reported that the slope <br />wall was practically completed and that some minor repairs with regards the slope <br />wall would shortly be made. He also advised that he intended to take up with Mr. <br />Richards the matter of securing some gravel for curb and,gutter work in exchange <br />for dirt which the town had purchased for the slopewall fill. Councilman Olesen <br />also brough up the matter of the Neal Street crossing in the vicinity of the S.P. <br />depot and the bridge situation as it existed. After some discussion of the <br />matter theClerk got in touch with the City Attorney and was advised that the information <br />necessary for presentation to the State Railroad Commission was being secured by Mr. <br />Nilson. Councilman Olesen tlso brought up the matter of cleaning up•the Sweare property <br />back of the old livery stable. After some discussion, on motion of Councilman Olesen, <br />secon ed by Councilman Amaral and with all in favor of same it was ordered that thirty <br />days given those concerned, in which to clean'up'the premises. The Clerk brought <br />up the matter of the claim of C.S.Richards for 3500 cubic yards of back fill and <br />amounting to $350.00. He explained that the City Attorney had directed this claim <br />to him and that he had advised that it was decided that Mr. Richards was to receive <br />$350-00 even though the municipality might not use the full 3500 cubic yards and that <br />Mr. Richards would allow the municipality one year from May 1, 1936 in which to secure <br />the full 3500 cubic yards. The claim was laid over until the next meeting. Mayor <br />Orloff concluded the slopewall matter by discussing the arrangements made at the <br />time of the hearing in Oakland. <br />Councilman Amaral took up the matter of painting another sign on Main Street <br />with regards the school crossing. He advised that the present sign,was not sufficient <br />and that another sign at least 100 feet from the crossing should be marked "School - Slow." <br />The following Resolution was then presented: <br />Resolution .No. 1590-- Authorizing the payment of the salaries of the municipal officers <br />for the month of May and amounting to $770.00. On motion of Councilman Amaral, seconded <br />by Councilman Olesen and with all the councilmen in favor of same the resolution was <br />adopted. <br />Councilman Olesen spoke with regards to the City Council participating in the <br />Rodeo parade in Livermore on Saturday, June 13th. Councilman Amaral brought up the <br />matter of the Council appropriating a sum not to exceed $15.00 for a decorated auto- <br />mobile etc. for the council. His motion was seconded by Councilman Madsen and with <br />all the councilmen in favor of same. <br />CityClerk Schween, advised with regards to a meeting in Oakland that afternoon at <br />which officers were elected for the Alameda County Fair a Racing Association and <br />tol:the effect that a county fair would be held in Pleasan n August 8 -19 and that <br />a racing program would be presented at that time. <br />There being no further business the m ting adjou e t 9:30 to meet in regular <br />session, Monday evening, July 6th at 8 o', k. <br />1 <br />Approved:. <br />C <br />04 <br />ITayor <br />Pleasanton, California, June 24, 1936. <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton was called to order in special session <br />on the above written date by Mayor Thos. Orloff. Present at roll call were: Councilmen <br />Madsen, Rivolta, Olesen, Amaral and Orloff. <br />Peter Christesen, of the Fiesta Del Vino committee brought to the attention of the <br />Board a contract and agreement with the Craft's Show Company for the putting on of <br />concessions etc. in connection with the Fiesta Del Vino, September 12 -13. Mr. Christesen <br />explained the situation with regards to the allowance which the concessions people would <br />make the Fiesta committee and also it was intended to locate the concessions on the <br />Southern Pacific property. He asked the Council to consider this matter of licenses for <br />the concessions. A discussion followed among the Councilmen. Councilmen Rivolta, Madsen <br />and Olesen expressed themselves as being willing to give the Association its co- operation <br />and to consider anything within reason. Councilman Amaral was willing to see the natter <br />taken care of and that no license fee should be charged onflaccount of =.the Fiesta being <br />for the good of the community. Mayor Orloff also expressed himself and that no licerne <br />fee should be charged and acc6rdingly.since same was unanimous the opinion of the <br />councilman, the matter of licenses was waived in behalf of the Fiesta Del Vino. <br />There being no further business, the meeting a 'ourned at :25 to meet in regular <br />session, Monday evening, July 6th at 8 o'clock. <br />App roved: <br />E <br />City Clerk <br />
