1179 <br />Treasurer: -- Showing that the Water Deposit Fund had $56.00 on hand per last report <br />and since then $5.00 had been collected making a total of $61.00 on hand. The Curb <br />and Gutter Project Fund had $200.99 on hand 13er last report and since then $28.59 <br />had.been collected making a total of $229.58, less amount of warrants paid $181.12 <br />leaving $48.46 on hand in the Curb and Gutter Project Fund. The balance on hand <br />per last report in the eater Surplus Fund was $1049.04, less amount of warrants <br />paid out $395.31, leaving 1653•73 on hand in the Water Surplus Fund. The Treasurer <br />had on hand in the General Fund per last report x,5746.97 and since then collections <br />had amounted to x$1291.01, making a total of $7037.98, less amount of warrants <br />paid out $1638.08, leaving $539.9.90 in the hands of the Treasurer. <br />Fire Chief -- Showed report of activities during the month of May.. <br />Health Officer:--Showing report of activities during the month of May. <br />City Judge: -- Report showed that $20.00 had been collected during the month of May. <br />Building Inspector:— Showing that bne ba1,1din.gs:.permxt had been granted during the <br />month. <br />Milk Inspector: -- Showing Laboratory report of Milk Samples for May. <br />Ashton Britten: -- Showing report of activities at the sewer farm during the month <br />of May. <br />The reports were referred to the finance committee for audit and report. <br />The following communications were then read: <br />May 15th -- Livermore Rodeo association, inviting the City Council to participate <br />in the 1936 Livermore Rodeo. <br />May 1 %h -- Pacific Coast Assciations of Fire Chiefs, regarding to important fire <br />chife's conferences to be held in Seattle and in Ontario. <br />May 26th-- T.H.Silver, Secretary, Pleasanton Fire Department advising that at a <br />recent meeting of the Department, Crawford Letham was appointed Fire <br />Chief and John J. Amaral, Assistant Fire Chief. <br />May 27th - -Harry E. Bonnell and Associates, regarding auditing the municipal books. <br />May 29th -- National Audit & System Co., regarding auding the municipal books. <br />June 1st-- A.D.Irwin, requetiting permission to keep his place of business open to <br />the public until 2 o'clock A.M. <br />The Clerk presented an affidavit from D.N. Foote, vice - president and treasurer <br />of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company to the City Council in which he set forth <br />that the gross receipts arising from the use, operation and possession by said <br />Pacific Gas & Electric Company of said franchise in said Town of ",Pleasanton during <br />the period January to December 319 19359 amounted to the sum of 089907.94 and <br />that two.percen 3 thereof, which is the amount that said company is obligated <br />under the terms of said franchise to pay to said Town of Pleasanton is the sum <br />of $178.16. The Clerk advised that the check concerned by this affidavit had been <br />deposited by him with the Town Treasurer. <br />A recess followed during which the finance committee examined Claims lvo. 519A <br />to 560 inclusive and amounting to $681.64. After the meeting had been called <br />to order again, Councilman Rivolta of the finance committee reported that the <br />committee had examined and approved the claims and made a motion to the effect that <br />they be paid. His motion was seconded by Councilman Madsen, and with all the councilmen <br />in favor of same. Councilman Rivolta also reported that the officers' gionthly reports <br />were accepted and moved that they be placed on file. <br />Action on the communications were taken as follows: <br />May 15th -- Livermore Rodeo.,, Association. On motion of Councilman <br />Madsen and seconded by Councilman Rivolta and with all the councilmen in <br />favor of same the officers of the fire department as elected were approved <br />by the Council. <br />May 27th -- Harry E. Councilman Amaral commented on the communication of Mr. Irwin <br />and asked that same be placed on file.. In his discussion of the communication, <br />Mr. Amaral explained the situation which existed recently as regards Mr. <br />Irwin's place of business and the closing hours which he observed. At his <br />request :*I= Chief of Police Delucchi spoke in regards a conversation with <br />Mr. Irwin regarding Saturday evening, May 16th and of the complaint which <br />Mr. Irwin placed as regards closing hours. Mr. Delucchi reported that Mr. <br />Irwin's conduct at that time was unbecoming. After a discussion among the <br />Councilmen, Councilman been moored, and same was seconded by Councilman <br />Olesen, and�with all :the; councilmen - in •-favor of same, .that the"closing <br />hours on week days evenings was a matter for which Councilman Amaral and <br />the officers of .his department should be responsible and d/which they should <br />have jurisdiction. <br />Councilman Amaral of the Lawn and Judiciary committee reported that he.had <br />taken up the matter of fines collected in the incorporated area with Judge Gale and <br />that Judge Gale advised that he would be willing to do something in the further as <br />regards turning these fires into the City 'treasurer. <br />
