Treasurer-.--Showing that the Water Deposit Fund had $56.00 on hand per last report <br />and that •5..00 had been collected during the month making a total of $61.00. The <br />Curb and Gutter Project Fund had $79.86 on hand per last report and since then <br />$531.51 had been collected making a total of $611.37 in the Curb and Gutter Fund. <br />The Treasurer had $lo559.88 on-hand per last report and since then $1326.72 had <br />been collected making a total of $11,886.60, less amount.of warrants paid <br />$2725.49, leaving $9161.11 in the hands of the Treasurer. <br />City Judge: -- Report showed that there were no fines during the month of February, 1936. <br />Fire Chief:.--; Showing report of activities during the month of..February, 1936. <br />Health Officer: -- Showing report of .activities during the month.of February, 1936. <br />MiUT� Inspector: -- Showing Laboratory report of Milk Swmples for- February, 1936. <br />The reports were referred to the finance committee for examination and report. <br />..The following communications were read at the request of Councilman Amaral, <br />same were addressed to John J. Delucchi, Chief of Police: <br />February 5th: State Board of Equalization advising that the Board had denied a <br />Liquor application to A. D. Irwin, 725 Main Street for the following <br />reasons: <br />1. Premises do not meet the requirement of the State Alcoholic <br />Control Act. <br />2. Previous violation of the Alcoholic Be.verage Control Act. <br />3. Protest from District Attorney. <br />February 19th: State Board of Equalization advising that the Board had denied a <br />Liquor application to C. H. Fries, 742 Main Street, and Peter <br />Bernet, 443 Main Street for the following reasons: <br />C. H. Fries: 1. Objection from Chief of Police. <br />2. Premises do not meet the requirement <br />of the State Alcoholic Beverage Control Act. <br />3. Protest from the District Attorney. <br />Peter Bernet: 1. Premises do not meet the requirement <br />of the State Alcoholic Beverage Control Act. <br />A recess followed during which the finance committee examined Claims No. 375 <br />to 417 inclusive and amounting to $954.67. After the meeting had been called <br />to order again., Councilman Rivolta of the finance committee reported that the <br />committee had examined and approved the claims and made a motion to the effect; <br />that they be paid. His motion was seconded by councilman Olesen and with all <br />the Councilmen present in favor of same. Councilman Rivolta also reported that <br />the officers' monthly reports were accepted and moved that they be placed on file. <br />Action on the communications were then taken as follows: <br />February 5th: State Board of Equalization. Filed. <br />February 19tJ1: Filed. <br />Councilman Olesen,of the Street and Building Committee, reported to the <br />Council that the slopewall would be, completed the end of this week as far as <br />the work had gone. He recommended that the mixer, now being rented from C. A. <br />Bruce and Sons be laid off until work was resumed on the slopewall again in <br />order to minimize the expenses. He advised that the matter would be reported to <br />Mr. Bruce so as to avid any misunderstanding. He also advised the-Council with <br />regards to the tree planting and tree trimming that had been going on during <br />is cent'weeks. He brought up the matter of the bridge on Neal Street in the <br />vici=nity of the Southern Pacific'Railroad Company tracks.­.He reported that the <br />matter had been debated in times past as to whether the town should fix same <br />or the railroad company and he asked that an engineer be secured from the State <br />Railroad Commission to pass upon same. The Clerk was instructed to correspond <br />with the State Railroad Commission in San Francisco and report the matter to them <br />and.ask that they send out an engineer to decide same. Councilman Olesen brought <br />up the matter of the land of C,.S.Richards involved in the slopewall project.-and <br />advised that he had taken up same with TAr. Harding of the First ,National Bank of <br />Pleasanton who had something to say with regards to same and he in turn promised <br />to go into the matter with Mr. Lucas, on or about Tuesday,.March 3d. Former City <br />Clerk,'Letham, was in the audience and he was queried with'regards to a five foot <br />strip along Division Street which the Council understood Mrs. Lewis had deeded to <br />the city. Mr. Letham advised that when the street was put in on Division Street <br />that Tars. Lewis had given such strip as did other prope`rty.owners along the street <br />in order to widen the street but he did not know anything about a deed being signed. <br />The Clerk was instructed to look over the minutes of the previous meetings with <br />reference to *the matter and also to query Councilman Madsen with regards to -same. <br />The slopewall matter was then taken up further with City Attorney Nilson.
