1150 <br />The Council then dis-cussed,: the matter of allowing Mr. Bruce rental for <br />his property on Railroad Avenue which is being used as storage.quarters for <br />municipal supplies, and equipment. It was reported that the matter had been <br />looked into and,it was felt that Mr. Bruce should receive $12.00 a year and <br />that the rental should be paid as of January 1, 1935. On motion of Councilman <br />Olesen seconded by Councilman Amaral and with all the Councilmen in favor of <br />same it was ordered that Mr. Bruce should be paid $12.00, for the use of his <br />property and the Clerk was instructed to draw a check in that amount. <br />There being no further business <br />in adjourned.session, Monday evening, <br />Approved: <br />Mayor <br />the meeting adjourne at 8:30 to meet <br />October ag 1935- <br />r <br />Clerk <br />Pleasanton, California, October 21, 1935• <br />The Town Council of the Town of Pleasanton was called to order in adjourned <br />session at 7:30 P.M. on the above written date by Mayor Thos. Orloff. Present at <br />roll call were: Councilman Madsen, Rivolta, Olesen and Orloff. Councilman Amaral <br />was absent. <br />After a discussion on the P.G.8cE. matter as presented to-the Council, the <br />Clerk was instruicted to communicate with; the various municipalities and ascertain <br />what they are doing and also to present the clatter to Louis Burke, Attorney fo the <br />League of California Municipalities and to seek from him an expression .on the matter. <br />It was further ordered that the matter be laid over until the December meeting for <br />further discussion and action. <br />Councilman Olesen advised that all of the property owners from lain Street to <br />Augustine Street, with the exception of Mrs. Bailey, had-been approached with <br />reference to removing trees. He advised that the property owners did not wish to <br />see the width of the street changed and accordingly it would be necessary for some <br />of the trees to be taken out. He advised further that he had taken up the matter <br />with Mrs. Edna Harris, president of the Woman's Improvement Club and Tubs. Harris <br />was of the opinion that the matter was directly up to the property owners. Mr. <br />Olesen also advised that the property owners were anxious to see new trees set out <br />and that he felt that some assistance should be given by the Town to the setting <br />out of trees. The Council went on record as favoring the trimming of certain <br />trees in town which had been rotted and also that new trees be set out before <br />the old ones were taken out. <br />Chief of Police Delucchi advised the Council that he had heard from Mr. <br />Uliano at 5:30 o'clock and to the affect that he was sick and unable to attend the <br />meeting. Some discussion then followed among the Councilmen on the matter after <br />which Mayor Orloff asked that the matter be allowed to zest until Mr., Uliano's <br />license came up for renewal at which time the Council could take the necessary <br />action towards refusing same. <br />Councilman Olesen then spoke with reference to the condition of Ray Street <br />and First Street and the necessity of getting those streets in shape. He advised <br />that he thought help would be available when the WPA project started toward making <br />the necessary repairs and he was instructed to proceed with the work whenever <br />help was available. <br />The meeting adjourned at 8 o'clock to meet in regular session, Monday evening, <br />November 4th at 7:30 o'clock.
