THE CITY OF <br />-•• ~~°° ° ~=' ~ "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />~L~~S~4NTONc <br />March 3, 2009 <br />Community Development <br />Planning Division <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br />JERRY ISERSON FOR CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE <br />PREPARATION OF A PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT <br />MODIFICATION, REVISED DEVELOPMENT PLAN, AND RELATED <br />WORK FOR HACIENDA BUSINESS PARK <br />SUMMARY <br />This agreement would allow the City to retain Mr. Jerry Iserson to prepare the PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development) modification and revised development plan for Hacienda, <br />and to perform related staff work for this process. Mr. Iserson would work with a <br />Council-appointed committee (with oversight from the Director of Planning and <br />Community Development) to facilitate a public planning process, resulting in the <br />preparation of a PUD modification, revised Development Plan, modified Development <br />Agreement, and revised Design Guidelines for the park. The cost of Mr. Iserson's <br />services is estimated at $57,050 (contract total is $65,000, including contingency) to be <br />paid by the Hacienda Business Park Owners Association (HBPOA). Mr. Iserson would <br />be employed by the City of Pleasanton, and the City would be reimbursed by the <br />HBPOA. This would enable the City to satisfy this important planning objective without <br />incurring costs and additional staffing needs. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action: <br />1. Authorize the City Manager to approve the attached Professional Services <br />Agreement between the City and Mr. Jerry Iserson for consulting services for <br />the Hacienda PUD modification and related work for the subject project, for <br />the estimated cost of $57,050 and a contract total of $65,000. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The estimated cost of Mr. Iserson's consultant services for this project is $57,050, with <br />any additional time authorized (up to a total of $65,000) billed on a time and materials <br />basis. Mr. Iserson would be employed by the City of Pleasanton, however, the HBPOA <br />would reimburse the City for his consulting fee. The reimbursement agreement between <br />the City and Hacienda would cover these costs, so there would be no financial impact to <br />the City. <br />
