PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANT ON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1618 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON MAKING THE FINDING THAT AN ENVIRONMENTAL <br />IMPACT REPORT WOULD NEED TO BE PREPARED FOR THE PROJECT <br />FILED UNDER GP-78-2. <br />WHEREAS, Van Bokkelen-Cole Company applied for a general plan amendment <br />for a 3.8 acre parcel located on the east side of Santa Rita <br />Road immediately north of the Arroyo Mocho; and <br />WHEREAS, Van Bokkelen-Code Company proposes to amend the plan from <br />High Density Residential to Commercial and Offices; and <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with this General Plan Amendment, an Initial <br />Study was done pursuant to the Environmental Impact Guidelines <br />and Procedures adopted by the City Council of the City of <br />Pleasanton by Resolution No. 77-66; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission, at its meeting of March 8, 1978, <br />received an Initial Study and proposed Negative Declaration <br />- in a report from the Director of Planning and Community <br />Development dated February 28, 1978, regarding the afore- <br />mentioned project; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission was advised by the City Attorney of <br />its responsibilities in reviewing the proposed Negative <br />Declaration and the determinations required by Section 5.4(e) <br />of Resolution No. 77-66; and <br />WHEREAS, each member of the Planning Commission had before him copies <br />of Resolution No. 77-66 at the time of considering the pro- <br />posed environmental assessment, which has previously been <br />published in the Pleasanton Times, at the time of the public <br />hearing on the aforementioned project; and <br />WHEREAS, upon receipt of the staff report and public input, the <br />Planning Commission reviewed the provisions of the City's <br />Guidelines and processing procedures for the evaluation of <br />projects and the preparation of Environmental Impact Reports <br />as they pertain to requirements for Negative Declarations <br />and Environmental Impact Reports in order to determine if a <br />Negative Declaration is appropriate for the project and what <br />mitigation measures must be undertaken to ensure that the <br />project will not have a significant impact upon the environ- <br />ment. <br />
