PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1483 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL TfIE <br />ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT TO IC7LUDE "FOOD <br />MARKETS, INCLUDING SUPERMARKETS, CONVENIENCE MARKETS <br />AND SPECIALTY MARKETS", AS CONDITIONAL USES IN THE <br />C°N (COMMERCIAL NEIGHBORHOOD), C-C (CENTRAL COMMERCIAL) <br />AND C-R (COMMERCIAL REGIONAL) DISTRICTS. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, on December 13, 1976, initiated a <br />zoning code amendment that would designate convenience <br />markets as conditionally allowed in the C-N and C-C <br />Districts; and <br />it was staff's conclusion that there would be diffi- <br />culty in defining convenience markets as opposed to <br />supermarkets, specialty markets and other types of <br />food stores; and <br />REAS, because of the perceived difficulty in defining the <br />various types of food stores which might possibly locate <br />in the City and since all types of food stores have <br />the potential to be nuisance creating because of de- <br />liveries and hours of operation, the staff felt it <br />prudent to make food stores, in general, conditionally <br />allowed uses; and <br />EREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on Janu- <br />ary 12, 1977, to review the staff analysis and also <br />receive testimony pertinent to this review. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Planning Commission resolved as follows: <br />
