PLANNING COMMISSION <br />City of Pleasanton <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1392 <br />A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING ADOPTION OF <br />GENERAL PLAN <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, at its meeting of September 16, <br />1968, adopted the City's first General Plan in compliance with <br />Section 35600, et seq., of the Government Code; and <br />WHEREAS, due to the growth of the City of Pleasanton since <br />the adoption of the original General Plan and the growth of <br />regional and state agencies which are concerned with the devel- <br />opment of population centers, it is necessary that the original <br />General Plan be replaced; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council, at its meeting of December 17, <br />1973, adopted a tentative new General Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, subsequent to the adoption of General Plan, an <br />economic feasibility study was made of said plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the legislature also added additional elements to <br />be included as mandatory elements in general plans; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No. 75-236, estab- <br />lished population benchmarks to be included in a new General <br />Plan which indicates that the population of the community by <br />1996 will consist of approximately 48,700 individuals, said <br />figure being in accordance with the E/O population projections <br />established by the State Department of Finance Projection II <br />series; and <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the California Environmental <br />Quality Act, Public Resources Code Section 21500 and environment <br />guidelines prepared pursuant to said Act by the Director for <br />Resources of the State of California, an environmental element <br />has been added to the tentatively adopted General Plan to comply <br />with the provisions of said act; and <br />
