~~ .

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
Interstate Routes 580 and 680 are existing access-controlled freeways
that traverse the City of Pleasanton in Alameda County. Existing and
projected traffic needs dictate that improvements be made to these fa-
cilities.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), between the City of Pleasanton
(City) and the State of California, Department of Transportation
(Caltrans), outlines the general areas of responsibility for various
project development activities for proposed improvements to Interstate
Routes 580 and 680 in Alameda County, to be funded by the City. It
constitutes solely a guide to the obligations, intentions, and poli-
cies of the parties involved. It is not intended to authorize funding
or project effort, nor is it a legally binding contract. Funding com-
mitments, providing for the deposit of funds for specific work phases
will be covered by separate cooperative agreements as outlined herein.
This MOU covers project development activities through approval of a
Project Approval Report/Final Environmental Document (FED), and exe-
cution of a Freeway Agreement for the following elements of the North
Pleasanton Improvement District (NPID) plan:
(a) Proposed Stoneridge Drive/I-680 interchange and
auxiliary lanes on I-680 between Stoneridge Drive
and I-580
-1-
