~~ . <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />Interstate Routes 580 and 680 are existing access-controlled freeways <br />that traverse the City of Pleasanton in Alameda County. Existing and <br />projected traffic needs dictate that improvements be made to these fa- <br />cilities. <br />This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), between the City of Pleasanton <br />(City) and the State of California, Department of Transportation <br />(Caltrans), outlines the general areas of responsibility for various <br />project development activities for proposed improvements to Interstate <br />Routes 580 and 680 in Alameda County, to be funded by the City. It <br />constitutes solely a guide to the obligations, intentions, and poli- <br />cies of the parties involved. It is not intended to authorize funding <br />or project effort, nor is it a legally binding contract. Funding com- <br />mitments, providing for the deposit of funds for specific work phases <br />will be covered by separate cooperative agreements as outlined herein. <br />This MOU covers project development activities through approval of a <br />Project Approval Report/Final Environmental Document (FED), and exe- <br />cution of a Freeway Agreement for the following elements of the North <br />Pleasanton Improvement District (NPID) plan: <br />(a) Proposed Stoneridge Drive/I-680 interchange and <br />auxiliary lanes on I-680 between Stoneridge Drive <br />and I-580 <br />-1- <br />
