~o <br />THE CITY OF <br />--~ ~°'i ~ -~- "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£~AS~4NTONo <br />October 16, 2007 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY CHRISP <br />COMPANY FOR ANNUAL TRAFFIC BUTTONS AND LINE MARKERS <br />INSTALLATION, CIP NO. 065007 <br />SUMMARY <br />Construction of the subject project is complete and ready for acceptance. The work <br />consisted of removing existing pavement markers, traffic lines and traffic markers, and <br />furnishing and installing new thermoplastic markings, traffic lines, and pavement <br />markers on City streets at various locations (Attachment 1). The locations were selected <br />from a list generated by the Streets and Traffic Divisions and coordinated with the City's <br />annual street resurfacing project. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br />2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project. <br />3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $13,577.52 to Chrisp <br />Company thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br />4. Authorize final payment to Chrisp Company in the amount of $3,332.69. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />As part of the project approval process, it was recommended that any remaining project <br />funding balance be allocated toward future annual traffic buttons and line markers <br />installation projects. This project will result in a decrease in long-term maintenance <br />costs due to the painting of new traffic lines and legends and the installation of new <br />traffic buttons. <br />
