MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />MEETING <br />OF THE <br />PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL <br />September 6, 2005 <br />1. CALL TO ORDER <br />The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Hosterman at 7:05 <br />p.m. Vice Mayor Brozosky led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. <br />Mr. Brozosky reminded the community that Wednesday, September 7 is the last First <br />Wednesday of the year. He invited the community to attend the following community events: <br />"Open House" for the Pleasanton Tennis Park to be held on Saturday, September 10 and Circus <br />Chimera to be held September 12-15 at Hart Middle School, with all proceeds to benefit <br />Pleasanton schools. He provided a brief overview of the City's participation in providing <br />assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />City Clerk Dawn Abrahamson called the roll, which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmembers present were Steve Brozosky, Cindy McGovern, Matt Sullivan, Jerry Thorne, <br />and Mayor Hosterman. Staff members present were: Nelson Fialho, City Manager; Michael <br />Roush, City Attorney; Jim Wolfe, Director of Parks and Community Services; Rob Wilson, <br />Director of Public Works; Jerry Iserson, Director of Planning and Community Development; Eric <br />Carlson, Fire Marshall; and Pamela Ott, Economic Development Manager. <br />3. AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Mr. Fialho informed Council that agenda item 41, lease with Ether Web Network LLC, to <br />locate wireless communications equipment at 9000 Santos Ranch Road (Water Reservoir and <br />Pump Station), was removed from the agenda and continued indefinitely. <br />Mr. Sullivan asked if there was support to place an emergency item on the agenda that <br />would allow staff to provide a detailed report regarding the City's participation in providing relief <br />assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and allow Council take action to provide additional <br />assistance. <br />It was moved by Mr. Sullivan, seconded by Mr. Brozosky, to add an emergency <br />item to Public Hearings and Other Matters (item 6b) to receive a report from staff and <br />discuss providing relief assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. <br />Pleasanton City Council 1 09/06/05 <br />Minutes <br />
